Trump Says He ‘Wasn’t Worried’ During Shooting Incident; Suspect to Appear in Court

Donald Trump has said he remained unfazed during a shooting incident that disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, as the accused is set to appear before a federal court.

The incident occurred near a security checkpoint outside the venue, where an armed suspect allegedly opened fire, injuring a member of the Secret Service before being swiftly apprehended. Officials confirmed that the attacker was subdued before he could breach the main event area, preventing further casualties.

Speaking in a televised interview, Trump said he “wasn’t worried” during the chaos and credited security personnel for their rapid response. He added that the suspect “didn’t come close” to entering the ballroom where high-profile guests, including government officials and media representatives, were present.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack may have been politically motivated. Authorities believe the suspect could have been targeting individuals linked to the Trump administration. Reports also suggest that the accused had travelled from another state and may have documented his intentions prior to the attack.

Law enforcement agencies stated that the suspect is currently in custody and is not cooperating with investigators. He is expected to face multiple charges, including assault and attempted murder of a federal officer, when he appears in court.

All attendees, including Trump and other senior officials, were safely evacuated following the incident. Security agencies have since launched a comprehensive probe to determine the motive behind the attack and to assess any potential security lapses.
