Investors showing interest in Tripura due to business-friendly environment: CM Saha

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said the state has become an attractive destination for investors, crediting improved law and order, easy government policies and the availability of raw materials for the growing interest from businesses.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the two-day Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026, scheduled for July 9 and 10 at the Badharghat International Fair Ground in West Tripura, Saha said nearly 500 business leaders, including foreign investors, are expected to attend the event.

He also informed that Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with senior Central government officials, will participate in the conclave.

The Chief Minister said that business proposals worth ₹30,000 crore had been received during the previous summit, out of which investments amounting to ₹8,000 crore have already materialised. He expressed hope that the upcoming event would bring in more investments as entrepreneurs continue to show interest in Tripura’s industry-friendly atmosphere.

According to Saha, increased investment in the state will create employment opportunities, improve the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and support overall economic growth.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with top officials, including Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha and Director General of Police Anurag Dhankar, to take stock of preparations for the conclave. Different departments also gave presentations on investment opportunities in their respective sectors.

Over the last two months, the Industries and Commerce Department has organised several promotional programmes outside the state to attract investors and ensure the success of the upcoming business conclave.
