Nongkseh made it three wins in a row after beating Sawmer 3-0 in the Shillong Premier League 2026 at the SSA Stadium on September 28.
Kitboklang Pale, Mebankhraw Wahlang and Hardy Cliff Nongbri scored for Nongkseh as the team picked up another three points and moved to third in the league table.
Nongkseh now have 13 points from seven matches, moving ahead of Mawlai, who have 12 points from six games. Sawmer are still sixth with nine points.
Sawmer held Nongkseh for the first 30 minutes, but Kitboklang finally opened the scoring in the 30th minute. He brought down a long ball on his chest, went past Khrawkupar Tamu and sent a left-footed shot into the net.
Nongkseh added a second just seven minutes later. Hardy sent a corner towards the far post and Mebankhraw rose above the defence to head the ball home.
Sawmer goalkeeper Pyrshangbanbha Dkhar, who has had a tough season, looked much more confident on the day and made two good saves late in the first half to keep the deficit at two goals.
Nongkseh continued to look for more goals after the break. Chesterpaul Lyngdoh and Shano Tariang both came close but failed to find the target.
Sawmer had their best chance in the 70th minute when Wanshanlang Dkhar’s long-range free-kick hit the crossbar.
Nongkseh finally put the game beyond doubt in the 88th minute. Kitboklang made his way into the box before cutting the ball back to captain Hardy, who placed a low shot into the net.
Mawlai, who are currently fourth, will take on fifth-placed Meghalaya Police at 3pm on September 29.
