BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Wednesday, November 4, launched a sharp attack on Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of being influenced by foreign forces allegedly seeking to destabilise India.
Addressing a rally in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, during the BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) march, Nabin alleged that Gandhi was attempting to create political instability in the country.
“We know how Rahul Gandhi is being used as a foreign tool, and we will not let their designs succeed. He wants to push the country into chaos,” Nabin said.
The BJP chief’s remarks come amid escalating political tensions between the ruling party and the Congress, with Rahul Gandhi repeatedly demanding answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various national issues.
Questioning Gandhi’s criticism of the Prime Minister, Nabin challenged his political record and referred to Amethi, Gandhi’s former parliamentary constituency, while highlighting development initiatives undertaken under the BJP government.
“Do you have any moral standing to demand answers from PM Modi? What have you actually done that would warrant an answer being given to you?” he asked.
Nabin also blamed the Congress’s electoral setbacks on what he described as weak organisational management and a lack of engagement with grassroots party workers. Responding to opposition allegations concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, he argued that the Congress should focus on strengthening its organisation rather than attributing its defeats to the revision exercise.
He maintained that closer coordination with party workers and consistent grassroots activity were essential for electoral success.
The BJP president further criticised previous Congress governments over their record on poverty alleviation, claiming they had failed to fulfil their promises to the people. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with driving development at the national and state levels.
Taking aim at the opposition INDIA bloc, Nabin also questioned its claims regarding public participation at a recent rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. He alleged that the actual turnout was far below the numbers projected by opposition leaders.
Contrasting the opposition’s activities with the BJP’s organisational campaigns, Nabin said the BJP and its NDA allies were conducting marches across districts and towns, which he described as evidence of their organisational reach.
Referring to opposition leaders as “so-called yuvrajs”, the BJP president took another swipe at the Congress leadership, questioning its political approach and public engagement.
Nabin is on a two-day organisational visit to Gorakhpur from November 4 to 5. During the visit, he is leading the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ march and is scheduled to meet senior BJP leaders, party office-bearers and public representatives as part of preparations for upcoming elections.
