Meghalaya Cabinet Approves Regularisation of 26 Ad Hoc Employees

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has announced that the state Cabinet has approved the regularisation of 26 ad hoc employees appointed against sanctioned posts before the December 31 cut-off date.

The latest decision marks the fifth batch of regularisation undertaken in accordance with the ruling of the Supreme Court. It extends the benefit to 26 additional employees who were previously left out of the process.

According to the Chief Minister, nearly 4,000 employees have benefited from the regularisation exercise over the past few years. The latest approval is intended to bring more eligible employees within the process, subject to the applicable criteria.

The state government has been implementing the regularisation exercise in batches in line with the Supreme Court’s ruling. With the latest Cabinet approval, another group of employees appointed against sanctioned posts before the specified cut-off date has been included.

The decision reflects the government’s continued efforts to address the employment status of eligible ad hoc employees through the established regularisation framework.

However, the Chief Minister’s statement did not specify the departments in which the 26 employees serve, their designations or the timeline for completing the remaining formalities.
