Three Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders — Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das — have been placed under preventive arrest and are scheduled to appear before the Executive Magistrate at Delhi Cantonment Police Station on Sunday, October 11, a senior police officer said.
The leaders were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday after arriving in the national capital by flight, ahead of the party’s planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
Police had deployed extensive security arrangements across central Delhi on Saturday, preventing protesters from reaching the designated protest site.
The CJP has called for continued demonstrations demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protests come amid growing political tensions over allegations concerning electoral integrity and demands for accountability from the Election Commission.
