Tipra Motha Party founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has condemned alleged derogatory remarks about Tripura and its people attributed to social media content creator Amir Shokeen, calling for legal action over the incident.
Reacting to the alleged remarks, Pradyot objected to the use of the term “C#%tpura” to refer to Tripura, stating that such language insulted not only the state’s people but also its historical identity and cultural heritage.
“If this is not an insult to us, then what is?” Pradyot asked, expressing his displeasure over the alleged comments.
Demanding action in accordance with the law, the Tipra Motha leader urged youth organisations, including YTF, TSF and TISF, to file a police complaint against the content creator over the alleged derogatory remarks.
Pradyot also called on the police to take appropriate legal steps and investigate the matter. He urged authorities to consider further action, including sending a team to arrest the accused, if warranted under the law.
The controversy has brought attention to concerns over the use of derogatory language about Tripura and its people on social media. Any legal action will depend on the complaint, the evidence available and the findings of the authorities.
