Tripura Resident Doctors Threaten Pen-Down Strike From October 5

Resident doctors at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GB Pant Hospital have threatened a pen-down strike starting October 5 over the unauthorized recording and viral circulation of video footage involving a senior resident doctor.

The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) submitted a formal memorandum detailing four demands, including the arrest of individuals responsible for filming inside patient care areas without consent, the removal of defamatory online content, and legal action against media platforms circulating unverified material.

The association warned that failure to meet these demands by 9:00 AM on Monday would result in a state-wide boycott of non-emergency medical duties by resident doctors and postgraduate trainees.
