Proceedings in the Rajya Sabha were disrupted on Monday and the House was adjourned till 12 noon after Opposition members protested over the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) demonstration at Jantar Mantar regarding the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.
The commotion started soon after the official papers were tabled in the House. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue, saying it was linked to the future of lakhs of students across the country.
Kharge claimed that thousands of students who had gathered at Jantar Mantar were lathi-charged by the police. He accused the government of trying to silence the protesters instead of addressing their concerns.
As Opposition members stood up and raised slogans of “Shame, shame”, the House witnessed continuous disruptions. Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan then adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon.
The CJP-led protest at Jantar Mantar is demanding action over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. The protesters are also calling for strict action against those responsible and reforms in the examination system. The demonstration is taking place alongside the opening day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session.
