Fire breaks out at eatery in Motphran, Shillong; no injuries reported

A fire broke out at a well-known eatery in the Motphran area of Shillong on the afternoon of April 2, causing panic among people nearby. Luckily, no one was injured, officials said.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from a stove where snacks were being prepared.

The flames spread quickly after diesel stored inside the shop caught fire, making the situation worse.

The shop owner said they had been using charcoal and diesel for cooking because of issues with LPG supply.

Fire and Emergency Services teams reached the spot on time and managed to control the fire before it spread to nearby areas.

Officials later confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.
