PM Modi extends Statehood Day greetings to Manipur, Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, January 21, extended greetings to the people of Manipur and Tripura on the occasion of their Statehood Day, praising the two northeastern states for their rich cultural traditions, sporting spirit and growing role in the country’s development.

In a series of messages shared on social media, the Prime Minister highlighted the contribution of the North-East to India’s progress and said the region continues to play an important role in the nation’s development journey.

Greeting the people of Manipur, Modi spoke about the state’s strong connection with sports, culture and nature, calling these qualities its defining strengths. He said the people of Manipur have consistently contributed to India’s growth through their talent and dedication.

“On the occasion of Manipur Statehood Day, I extend my warm greetings to my sisters and brothers of the state. People from Manipur are enriching the progress of India,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.

Wishing the state continued progress, he added that Manipur’s passion for sports, culture and nature stands out and expressed hope that it will keep moving forward on the path of development in the coming years.

In a separate message, the Prime Minister also greeted the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day, describing the state as a fine blend of tradition and modernity. He noted that Tripura’s cultural heritage, along with its forward-looking approach, has enabled its people to make meaningful contributions to national development.

“Warm greetings to the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day. Tripura’s journey is marked by a remarkable blend of tradition and modernity,” Modi said.
