Haryana Thunders finish league stage on top after win over UP Dominators

Haryana Thunders finished on top of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026 league stage after registering a convincing 6–3 win over UP Dominators at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. The victory took Haryana to eight points from five matches, along with an impressive haul of 29 bout wins.

UP Dominators, who ended the league stage with two wins and four points, will now have to wait for the result of the Punjab Royals vs Delhi Dangal Warriors clash to know whether they make it to the semi-finals.

The contest stayed evenly poised for most of the evening, with the teams locked at 3–3 after six bouts. The decisive moment came in the seventh bout, where Iryna Koliadenko turned the match in Haryana’s favour. In the 62kg women’s contest, she staged a strong comeback and forced a fall in the second period to give Haryana a 4–3 lead. Her effort earned her the Player of the Match award.

Haryana’s campaign began with two close wins. In the 76kg women’s bout, Kajal Dhochack edged past Mansi Lather on last-point criteria after the match ended 3–3. Ankush Chandram followed it up with a similar result in the 57kg men’s category, getting the better of Rahul Deswal after a 4–4 tie.

UP Dominators fought back strongly. Tapsya Gahlawat produced a dominant performance in the 57kg women’s bout, using the Power Minute to good effect with two takedowns in Phase 6 to seal a 10–3 win. Momentum stayed with UP as Vishal Kali Raman scripted a comeback in the 65kg men’s contest, making the most of passivity calls, a successful challenge and a Power Minute takedown to level the tie at 9–6 overall. Gahlawat was later named Fighter of the Match.

Haryana regained the advantage in the 53kg women’s bout through skipper Yui Susaki. The Olympic champion raced to an 8–0 lead with a series of turns and exposures before conceding late points—the first time she dropped points this season. She held firm in the second period to register an 8–3 win.

UP once again drew level in the 86kg men’s category, where Mykhailov Vasyl recovered from a slow start and landed a crucial four-point takedown during the Power Minute to clinch a 5–3 victory, keeping the tie locked at 3–3.

The turning point arrived soon after, as Koliadenko dominated Nisha Dahiya in the 62kg bout. After conceding early points, she responded with a powerful takedown followed by multiple turns to force a fall and put Haryana firmly in control.

With the result all but sealed, Anirudh Gulia delivered a strong showing in the 125kg heavyweight bout. After trailing early, he surged in the second period with a flurry of takedowns and Power Minute points to secure an 11–5 win and confirm Haryana’s top finish. The night ended with Parvinder’s composed victory over Abhimanyu Mandwal in the 74kg men’s bout, wrapping up an 8–5 finish.
