Dhurandhar has created history at the domestic box office by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the ₹800 crore mark in net collections in India. The landmark was reached on the film’s 30th day in theatres, highlighting a rare level of consistency at the ticket windows.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the update on X on January 4, 2026, stating that the spy-action thriller entered the ₹800 crore club on its fifth Saturday. With collections still holding steady, the film has secured its place among the highest-grossing Indian releases, and its lifetime total is expected to grow further.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has also received praise from several film personalities. Actor couple Suriya and Jyotika lauded the film on social media, calling it a “masterpiece” and appreciating Dhar’s direction.
R Madhavan, who essays the role of Indian spymaster Sanyal in the film, responded to their comments, saying the appreciation meant a great deal to him and wishing them well in return.
Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film also features Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal in prominent roles. Its box office performance has made it one of the biggest Hindi releases of 2025, rounding off the year on a high note.
The makers have already confirmed that Dhurandhar is envisioned as a two-part franchise, with the sequel scheduled for release on Eid 2026. After the first film’s record-breaking run, expectations for the next instalment have risen sharply.
