Air India Express keeps Gulf flights suspended till March 2 due to airspace issues

Air India Express Extends Suspension of Gulf Flights Till March 2

Air India Express has further extended the suspension of its flights to several key Gulf destinations till 23:59 hrs IST (18:29 hrs UTC) on March 2, citing ongoing operational and regional disruptions.

According to the airline, services to and from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will remain suspended until the deadline. The move continues the disruption across one of the airline’s busiest international routes, heavily used by Indian expatriates and business travellers.

To ease the inconvenience caused to passengers, the airline has introduced flexible rebooking and refund options. Travellers who had booked tickets to or from the Gulf sector up to February 28, 2026, for travel scheduled until March 5, 2026, can reschedule their journey to a later date without paying any date-change charges. Those who prefer to cancel will be entitled to a full refund to their original mode of payment.

An official spokesperson said the decision was taken to support passengers affected by the temporary suspension and to provide maximum flexibility during the disruption.

The Gulf region remains a vital international market for Indian carriers, especially low-cost airlines, as it serves a large number of migrant workers and business passengers. The extended suspension is expected to put additional pressure on alternative airlines and connecting routes.

Passengers have been advised to regularly check the airline’s official website or contact customer support for the latest updates and assistance regarding rebooking or refunds.

Further updates on the resumption of services are likely depending on the situation.
