Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Manipur in October, although the date and details of his proposed programme have not yet been finalised, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said on October 6.
Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal, Khemchand said the Union Home Minister was likely to travel to the state sometime during the month.
“The Union Home Minister is likely to visit Manipur in October, but the exact date is not known yet,” the Chief Minister said.
Khemchand was responding to questions from journalists following a meeting of the state Cabinet.
CABINET DISCUSSES DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES
The press conference also focused on the state government’s development initiatives and projects. The Cabinet expressed its appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with his 25 years of public service.
Chief Minister Khemchand and government spokesperson Sapam Ranjan Singh outlined various projects and programmes being undertaken by the state government and highlighted broader development measures.
VISIT COMES AMID CONTINUED GOVERNMENT EFFORTS
Shah’s proposed visit comes as the Centre and the Manipur government continue efforts to address issues concerning the state and pursue development-related initiatives.
The Union Home Minister has previously been involved in discussions concerning the situation in Manipur and the Centre’s efforts to restore normalcy and advance development in the state.
However, the details of the proposed October visit, including the date, itinerary and engagements, are yet to be announced.
Officials are expected to provide further information once the Union Home Minister’s schedule is finalised.
