The Tipra Motha Party (TMP) has projected a major victory in the Tripura Village Committee elections, expressing confidence that it will secure 470 to 500 of the 587 Village Committees as vote counting approaches on October 5.
Following a high-level strategy meeting on Saturday involving senior ministers, MLAs, and TTAADC representatives, the party reviewed grassroots feedback from the September 28 polling. Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma noted that internal assessments point toward winning 80 to 90 percent of the bodies.
Party leaders emphasized that the strong projection is bolstered by an early advantage, with 1,561 Tipra Motha candidates already elected uncontested across the 4,597 total seats under the TTAADC. Polling for the remaining 2,950 seats saw active participation on September 28, and the party confirmed that dedicated polling agents will strictly oversee the counting process on Monday.
