A sample of Nestlé’s “Low Fat Dairy Whitener” has been declared unsafe and substandard following a laboratory analysis conducted under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The non-compliant sample was collected from M/s Bharat Hotels Ltd. (The Lalit) in Connaught Place, New Delhi. According to an official notice issued by the FSSAI, the product failed to meet mandatory quality and safety parameters prescribed under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Following the laboratory report, food safety authorities issued a formal notice to Bharat Hotels Ltd. and ordered an immediate ban on the sale and distribution of the affected batch. While the food business operator retains the right to appeal the analyst’s findings within a statutory window, consumers are advised to check batch details and monitor official updates before purchasing or consuming the product.
