India batter Virat Kohli has said that the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be his final 50-over World Cup for the country, and he is determined to give his best to help India win the trophy.
Kohli, who holds the record for the most ODI centuries with 54 hundreds, has already retired from T20 internationals and Test cricket. He now plays only in the 50-over format for India.
The 2027 World Cup will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia between October and November. It is expected to be Kohli’s fifth ODI World Cup.
“For me, it’s the last World Cup I’m going to play for India,” Kohli told broadcaster JioStar.
He said knowing that it could be his final World Cup has given him extra motivation to give everything on the field and make the most of the opportunity.
