6-year-old girl lured away, found dead in sack; family alleges rape-murder

A six-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and murdered in Greater Noida’s Haldoni village after she went missing from her home on August 28. Police later recovered her body stuffed inside a sack and detained a suspect after CCTV footage helped them trace the events.

The accused was later killed in a police encounter. The girl’s family has alleged that she was raped and murdered, though police are investigating the allegations. The post-mortem report is awaited.

The incident came to light after the girl’s family approached police on Friday, August 28, and reported that she had gone missing from home without informing anyone. Police registered an FIR and began a search operation.

As part of the search, police teams checked CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the area. The footage provided important clues about the girl’s disappearance and helped police identify a suspect.

Police took the suspect into custody and questioned him. The girl’s body was later recovered.

According to CCTV footage, the accused was seen luring the girl away and later carrying her in a sack towards a field. Police and forensic teams are examining the circumstances surrounding her death.

The girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police said the examination is being conducted by a panel of doctors and is being videographed.

The post-mortem report is expected to establish the cause of death and provide other details important to the investigation. Police officials, along with an FSL team, also inspected the crime scene and collected evidence.

DCP (Central Noida) Shailendra Singh said police were investigating the case from all angles. Further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings and other evidence collected during the investigation.

Family demands justice

The girl’s uncle, Mohammad Noshid, said a man who lived near their house and worked at Labour Chowk would sometimes sleep in rooms on their premises.

Noshid said the family came to know from CCTV footage that the girl had been put inside a sack and taken towards a nearby field. He alleged that the accused took the girl from near a mosque while her family members were away at work.

“We started looking for the girl after some time but could not find her. We came to know what had happened only after checking the CCTV footage,” Noshid said.

He said the family handed the accused over to police and demanded justice for the child.
