PM Modi wishes Rahul Gandhi on his 56th birthday, prays for his long life

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who turned 56.

In a post on X, Modi wished Gandhi good health and a long life. “Best wishes to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji on his birthday. Praying for his good health and long life,” he wrote.

The occasion was also marked at the Congress headquarters, Indira Bhawan, in New Delhi, where party workers put up posters and celebrated Gandhi’s birthday.

Several Congress leaders took to social media to convey their wishes. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described Gandhi as an inspiring leader and praised his commitment to democratic values, social justice and public welfare.

The Congress party, through its official social media handle, highlighted Gandhi’s political journey and his role in raising issues related to inequality, injustice and youth aspirations.

Rahul Gandhi is currently serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and represents the Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He won the seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, he represented Wayanad in Kerala from 2019 to 2024 and Amethi in Uttar Pradesh from 2004 to 2019.

Born on June 19, 1970, Gandhi is the son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He also served as president of the Congress party between 2017 and 2019.
