Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reiterated India’s unwavering support for Israel, asserting that New Delhi stands firmly with the country “in this moment and beyond,” while strongly condemning terrorism in all its forms.
Speaking at the Knesset during his official visit, Modi described India-Israel relations as historic and increasingly significant in today’s shifting geopolitical climate. Referring to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians, the Prime Minister conveyed condolences on behalf of the people of India.
“I bring with me the heartfelt condolences of 1.4 billion Indians for every innocent life lost and for every family whose world was torn apart in the barbaric terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7. We feel your pain and share your sorrow. India stands with Israel — firmly and with full conviction — now and in the future,” Modi said.
His remarks drew loud applause from members of the Israeli Parliament.
The Prime Minister also underlined that terrorism remains a global threat and called for collective efforts by the international community to confront and defeat it.
