Shocking Double Murder Reported in Tiyok’s Balma Moran Village
A sensational incident has once again shaken the state — this time from Balma Moran village in Tiyok, where a gruesome double murder has come to light.
According to reports, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday night, neighbours heard loud screams coming from the house of a man named Kalyan Konwar. When they rushed out and asked him about the noise, Kalyan reportedly dismissed their concerns, saying nothing had happened, and sent them back.
However, by Wednesday morning, the doors and windows of the house remained shut for an unusually long time, raising suspicion among locals. Peeping through the window, they were horrified to see the bodies of a woman and a child lying in a pool of blood.
The villagers immediately informed the village head, and in his presence, they broke open the door. Inside the room, they found the mutilated bodies of Kalyan’s wife, Chunchuni Konwar, and his seven-year-old daughter, Sonakshi Konwar. In another room, Kalyan Konwar was discovered sitting with his daughter’s severed head placed in a basket.
Police suspect that Kalyan Konwar himself may have carried out the brutal killings. Locals also informed that he had injury marks on his stomach. The reason behind the brutal murder of his wife and daughter, however, remains unclear.
A forensic team reached the spot and recovered the bodies, which were sent for post-mortem. The exact motive behind the killings will be known only after a detailed police investigation.
