The fourth convocation of Cotton University was held at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium in Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the ceremony, while Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who also serves as the Chancellor of Cotton University, presided over the event.
During the convocation, the late cultural icon Zubeen Garg was posthumously conferred the D.Litt degree. The honour was received by his sister, Pami Barthakur, who grew emotional while accepting the recognition on his behalf.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma fondly remembered Zubeen Garg and extended his best wishes to all scholars and researchers who were felicitated at the convocation.
