Drug supplier posing as an auto driver arrested
A drug peddler who had been operating under the guise of an auto-rickshaw driver has been caught transporting narcotics into Guwahati in an unregistered auto.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Saif Ali, brought the consignment from Chaygaon Gorsingimari to Guwahati using a vehicle without a number plate.
He was intercepted near the Machkhowa petrol pump by the SOG team of the West Police District. The drugs were found packed inside four soap cases.
The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth several lakh rupees.
Meanwhile, Bharalu police have continued interrogating the accused to uncover further links in the supply network.
