A late-night accident occurred on National Highway 27 near the NRL oil depot in Doboka.
A speeding scooter crashed into the road divider, leaving two people, including the rider, seriously injured.
According to locals, one of the injured is in critical condition. Residents rushed to the spot and immediately rescued both victims, sending them to Doboka Community Health Centre in an ambulance. After receiving preliminary treatment, they were referred to Hojai Civil Hospital for advanced care.
The injured youths have been identified as Sahil Uddin and Akibur Rahman, both residents of Hafiz Nagar in Ward No. 10 of Doboka town. Locals allege that the duo was heavily intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The scooter involved in the accident bore registration number AS31 G 8624.
