A tragic accident was reported at Sonamukhi Betbari in Chapar.
A speeding train ran over a pedestrian, leading to his death on the spot.
According to information received, the youth had just gotten off a bus at Sonamukhi Betbari while returning home from Guwahati. With headphones on, he was walking along the railway track when the train approached from behind and crushed him.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Gudu Sekh of Charuwabakhra village, son of Bakkar Ali.
Railway Police and Shalkocha Police reached the site soon after and have begun an investigation into the incident.
